Privacy Policy

Last updated: 9/5/2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Methods University ("we", "us", "the Site") collects, uses, and safeguards information when you use methodsuniversity.com and related services (the "Service"). This page is maintained by the Site owner and is not an independent certification of any practice described.

1. Information we collect

  • Account information: email address, display name, and authentication identifiers you provide when signing up or signing in.
  • Creator information: academy name, description, cover and avatar images, and payout details (including Bitcoin wallet or extended public key) you submit as a creator.
  • Content you upload: items, thumbnails, files, descriptions, and other material you publish to your academy.
  • Transaction information: records of purchases, subscriptions, payment method (card or Bitcoin), amounts, and provider references. Card details are handled by our payment processor and are not stored by the Site.
  • Usage data: basic technical information such as IP address, browser type, device information, and pages viewed, used to operate and secure the Service.

2. How we use information

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service, including authentication and access control.
  • Process payments, grant access to purchased items and subscriptions, and issue creator payouts.
  • Confirm Bitcoin payments on-chain (address activity, confirmations, exchange-rate references).
  • Communicate with you about your account, transactions, and platform updates.
  • Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

3. Third-party services

We rely on the following categories of third parties to run the Service:

  • Payment processor (card payments) — receives payment and billing details you submit at checkout.
  • Bitcoin block explorer — used to look up on-chain payment status for the address issued to your invoice. Only public blockchain data is queried.
  • Cloud hosting and database — stores account data, content, and transaction records on our behalf.
  • Authentication and OAuth providers (e.g., Google) — if you sign in via a third-party provider, that provider shares basic profile information with us.

Each provider processes data under its own privacy policy and security controls.

4. Cookies and local storage

We use cookies and browser local storage that are strictly necessary to keep you signed in, remember your session, and secure the Service. We do not use advertising cookies.

5. Data retention

We retain account, content, and transaction records for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period after closure to comply with legal, tax, accounting, and fraud-prevention obligations. You may request deletion of your account as described below; some records (such as completed transactions) may be retained where required by law.

6. Your choices

  • Update your profile, academy details, and payout information from your creator dashboard.
  • Request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us at the address below.
  • Unsubscribe from non-essential emails using the link in those messages.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable law (for example, under GDPR or CCPA). We will respond to verified requests within a reasonable time.

7. Security

We use industry-standard controls — including transport encryption, access controls, and hosted database row-level security — to protect information on the Service. No online service can guarantee absolute security; you are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential.

8. Children

The Service is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

9. International users

The Service is operated from and hosted in facilities that may be located outside your country. By using the Service you consent to the transfer and processing of your information in those jurisdictions.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
